The 2005 Tahoe is available in either 2WD or 4WD drive configurations. LS or LT
Prefered Equipment Groups are offered, as well as the Z71 Off-Road Equipment Group
on the 4WD model. Available optional features for this year include a rear
entertainment system, XM Satellite Radio, and the StabiliTrak stability
enhancement system. The StabiliTrak feature improves vehicle stability on various
road surfaces at various speeds by maximizing handling and braking dynamics. Other
standard safety items include daytime running lights, battery rundown protection,
a PASSlock II theft deterrent system, and dual-level passenger-sensing airbags.
Side impact airbags and an OnStar Communications System are optional.

- Revised interior trim for LS and LT models
- 160-amp alternator replaces 145-amp version as standard
- Upgraded tire pressure monitoring system with individual tire alert
- Redesigned assist steps for improved aerodynamics, durability
- 17-inch 5-spoke aluminum wheels now included on LT package
- New exterior colors: Sandstone Metallic, Bermuda Blue Metallic
