Chevrolet's large sedan enters 2005 with only minor changes. Revisions include a
standard OnStar communication system, new diamond-cut cast aluminum wheels, and
extended availability of the Sport Appearance Package. Exterior paint choices have
also been added, including Laser Blue, Sport Red, Silverstone, and Blue Ice (later
in the model year). The Impala is again available in three trims, base, LS, and
SS, which is the supercharged model. Standard luxury amenities include touring
suspension, keyless entry remote, and power convenience features. LS and SS trim
upgrades include sport seats, a rear spoiler, and performance gauges. Several
options can also be added including side impact air bags, an XM radio, a cargo
net, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel with touch controls.
- OnStar is now standard, with new Gen 6 hardware with upgraded hands-free
capability
- Impala SS side and grille badging is body-color with gold Chevrolet bowtie
emblem
- Impala SS front bucket seats feature halo-design headrests
- Gold Chevrolet bowtie emblems appear on all models
- 17-inch chrome finish diamond-cut cast aluminum wheels now available on SS
- Sport Appearance Package now available on Impala sedan
- New exterior colors: Laser Blue Metallic, Sport Red Metallic, Silverstone
Metallic, and Blue Ice Metallic
