For 2005, the Colorado returns with little change. Regular and Extended Cab
versions are available in four models: Base or LS trim, in either 2WD or 4WD
configuration. Crew Cab versions are available in two models: LS trim, in either
2WD or 4WD configuration. The base engine is a 2.8L 175 hp in-line four cylinder,
while a 220 hp 3.5L in-line five-cylinder engine is available as an upgrade. Both
engines are available with either a manual or an automatic transmission. 2WD
Colorado's can be ordered with an optional Sport Suspension Package, which
features a lowered ride height, 17-inch wheels with low profile tires, and
body-colored exterior components. The Z71 Off-Road Package is also available on
all models and contains front fog lights, tow hooks, limited slip differential,
mud guards, off-road suspension system and P265/75R15 on-off road tires.
- Xtreme package available in Regular, Extended and Crew Cab models:
- ZQ8 lowered suspension
- 18-inch alloy wheels and low-profile performance tires
- Monochromatic appearance
- Rear spoiler on tailgate, new front grille and special exterior badging
- Special instrument cluster graphics and interior badging
- Power Convenience Package added to Crew Cab models with 1SB, 1SE and 1SH
equipment groups
- New exterior color: Superior Blue Metallic
