The Express Passenger Van returns for the 2004 model year with minimal changes. It
is available in five models: 1500, 1500 All-Wheel Drive, 2500, 3500, and 3500
Extended. The 2500 Extended model is no longer available. The 1500 Express
Passenger Van is equipped with a Vortec V6 engine. The 1500 AWD features a 5.3L
Vortec V8 producing 285 hp and the 2500 and 3500 models are equipped with a 6.0L
Vortec V8 boasting 300 hp. Alternative Fuel Conversion is available with the Vortec
6.0L V8 engine. It offers a fully converted, dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG)
system or bi-fuel system using either CNG or gasoline. Optional equipment includes
a Cold Climate Package, Convenience Package, Smoker's Package, and Trailering
Equipment Group.
The 2004 Express Cargo Van 2WD and AWD models offer a left-side passenger door, a
refreshed exterior, and upgraded powertrains for the second year. The Express Cargo
Van also features a lineup of Vortec engines, available on G1500 and G2500 models.
Alternative Fuel Conversion is now available with the Vortec 6.0L V8. It offers a
fully converted, dedicated compressed natural gas (CNG) system or bi-fuel system
using either CNG or gasoline. The Express Cargo Van offers 4-wheel power disc
brakes with ABS as standard equipment. Also, dual exterior mirrors offer integrated
turn signal indicators, along with outside heated mirrors. Optional equipment
includes the OnStar Communications System, keyless remote entry, and a premium
sound system.
